 Shannon Shakespeare enters her second Olympic Games as one of the key veterans on the squad. The 12-time national champion qualified for the 4X100 and 4X200 freestyle relays. She raced both events at the 1996 Games helping Canada to two top-seven finishes. She studies liberal arts and sciences at the University of Michigan.

Sept. 20: Women's 800-metre freestyle relay: Marianne Limpert, Fredericton; Shannon Shakespeare, Winnipeg; Joanne Malar, Hamilton; Jessica Deglau, Vancouver, finished fifth in final.
Sept. 16: Marianne Limpert, Fredericton; Shannon Shakespeare, Winnipeg; Laura Nicholls, Waterloo; Jessica Deglau, Vancouver, Waterloo, were seventh in final.
