Chris Xu (formerly Ngo) joined the women's national team in 1995 and helped
Canada place in the world's top-16. In 1997 at the Manchester World Table
Tennis Championship, Xu was once again instrumental in placing Canada in
16th place out of more than 100 participating nations. A native of China,
she played several years for the Alberta Team before moving to Vancouver in
1997.

Sept. 18: Mixed doubles: Xiao Xiao Wang, Edmonton, and Chris Xu, Vancouver, lost to Gae Jun Chang and Michelle Do, U.S., 15-21, 21-14, 22-20 in round-robin Group B play, then lost to Qianhong Gotsch and Jie Schoepp, Germany, 21-11, 21-16.

Wen Xiao Wang, Edmonton, and Chris Xu, Vancouver, lost in round-robin Group C.
