Channel Seven loses one of its Olympic anchors
SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Tracey Holmes, one of the scheduled anchors for Australian host network Channel Seven's Olympic coverage, has been taken off the assignment because of her relationship with another high-profile person at the network.
Holmes and Stan Grant, former host of Seven's flagship current affairs program Today Tonight, is believed to be bitter over his treatment which followed revelations he had left his wife Karla and three children for Holmes.
On Thursday, the network issued a short statement saying the pair's roles at the network were being reviewed. The network denied they had been fired.
Australian Associated Press quoted sources at the station as saying both Grant and Holmes were offered alternative roles at the network which they rejected.
Holmes formerly worked for the Olympic organizing committee SOCOG and as a radio presenter for the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
