But eight Canadian girls won a bronze medal here yesterday because they did all the things Canada hasn't done well at these Olympic Games.

SYDNEY (CP) -- The Canadian synchronized swimming team put itself in medal contention by placing third in their technical program Thursday.
The eight-woman squad goes into Friday's free routine behind first-place Russia and second-place Japan.
