Known for its saddle roof, which creates a bowl-like effect, the Sydney Football Stadium is situated in the city's major sporting hubs. The stadium hosts numerous major cricket, rugby union, rugby league, Australian Rules and soccer matches.
From the outside, the stadium looks quite low because its playing surface is 13 metres below street level -- a technique employed to harmonize the structure with its residential surroundings.
Located in Sydney's eastern suburbs, the stadium is close to the restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops of the fashionable inner-city suburbs of Paddington and Surry Hills.
The stadium seats 42,000.
