In 1999-2000 she was named the World Cup's female rookie of the year.

She has two brothers who are excellent golfers. Curtis, 22, attends a U.S. college on a golf scholarship and Drew, 17, is a member of the Alberta provincial golf team and is expected to be recruited by a U.S. school.

Deidra Dionne participated in many sports as a youth and played baseball on a boys team until age 14. She's also won a provincial badminton title. She's been skiing since age three but started freestyle at 13.
