Hi everybody; we're about to get started here. Please
stand by.
Brandon from Philly:
Hey Serge! congrats on the weekly award!....just wondering how you felt when you left Pittsburgh and joined the Avalanche. thanks.
Serge Aubin:
It felt good. It felt like a new start with Avalanche, like it was a second chance.
Amanda:
Who inspired you to play hockey as well as you do?
Serge Aubin:
My hero growing up was Mario Lemieux, i admired him a lot. I tried to be like him as best as I could.
George Dilinger:
how do you find the city of Hershey and how knowlegdable are the fans? thx
Serge Aubin:
The city is really nice, and the people are great. My wife likes it, and its great here with the fans. I really like playing here.
Motor mouth:
Hi Serge: Whats your favourite arena in the AHL to play in (other than your home rink)??
Serge Aubin:
My favourite rink now is the Colisee in Quebec, i used to play in as a junior, its nice to play at home. But i also enjoy playing in Syracuse.
just curious:
do you have any superstitions or rituals that you do on game day? good luck this season!
Serge Aubin:
Not really. I always tie my left skate before my right one. Also i tape my stick a certain each period. But thats it as far as that goes.
Eric Lord:
Congratutions on the award. Best of luck rest of the season. Hopefully we can bring the Cup back to Hershey. My question concerns one of your former teammates. WHat was it like playing with Mitch Lamoureux? What kind of leader was he?
Serge Aubin:
It was great playing with Mitch. He was a great leader on and off the ice. We all respected him. His work ethic was amazing and I am really proud to have played with him.
mario from QC:
We hear about the pressure to perform nowadays in junior hockey...would you say that in the QMJHL that this is no different? good luck the rest of the way!
Serge Aubin:
There is pressure is junior because you know all about the scouts and everything. But it is nothing like the pros and as you go higher in the levels. Yet, you want to get drafted so yes, there is pressure all along the way.
Bill Stover:
After spending some time In the NHL last year did you find a big difference between the NHL and the AHL.
Serge Aubin:
Yes, I think everything is much faster, but the speed is obvious. After a week or two, you begin to make the adjustments and you go from there. Also, the guys in the NHL are much stronger that is for sure.
Melanie B:
when did you realize that you could actually make the NHL??
Serge Aubin:
I realize that when I was in junior, because i really believed it then Especially playing last season in that game, it was a big thrill and great experience.
Anonymous:
What is most rewarding about playing hockey?
Serge Aubin:
To get to work with great guys and travel around the world. Its great. To play in front of a big crowd in fantastic. Plus you always make new goals so it is always great.
TJ from T.O.:
Serge, could you describe the greatest moment of your hockey career so far?
thanks and good luck!
Serge Aubin:
So far, last year when i played my first NHL game, it was New Years Eve against the NY Rangers and it was against Wayne Gretzky as well, so for sure that was awesome.
Hockey Guy:
what would you say is the biggest difference as far as style-of-play, in the IHL, AHL, and ECHL?
Serge Aubin:
The difference between the IHL and AHL is that there are less prospects in the IHL so they are older and not so much trying to move up to the NHL. Whereas the AHL everyone wants to go to the NHL. the ECHL is more college players who are tougher and not necessarily ready to make the jump up.
Wes:
Hi, I am a big fan from Hershey. I was just wondering where you think the Bears are going to go this year. I personally think they are going to the top. They have all the essentials for a Calder Cup Champion team. Thanks, BEARS ALL THE WAY !!!
Serge Aubin:
I think this year we have a really good team with solid depth and if we keep working hard, we have a good chance of surprising some. If we strive hard, we really believe we have a Calder Cup team.
