New program not just a day at the spa

To put the recent growth of the $10.7 billion U.S. wellness and spa industry in perspective, North Americans now spend more money at spas than they do at amusement parks, movie theatres or ski resorts.

In response to this explosive growth, Toronto's Elmcrest College of Applied Health Sciences & Spa Management has developed three new full-time spa management programs to start in September 2003.

These new programs, the spa customer service professional program, the spa leadership program and the spa manager-director program will be offered together with Elmcrest's well-established full-time massage therapy and esthetics Diploma Programs.

With these three new exciting spa management programs, Elmcrest College is the first fully registered private career college in North America to train top-quality managers, administrators and technical staff exclusively for the wellness and spa industry.
Fall is traditionally back-to-school time, when even adults contemplate buying their own school supplies and choosing subjects.
Centennial College offers more than 1,000 continuing education courses to help adults upgrade their work skills, explore a new career path or sample a pastime.
Centennial is hosting a free information session tomorrow, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., for people interested in attending evening or weekend college courses. Faculty, staff and counsellors will be on hand to help participants decide on the right course or consider new career options.
It's happening at Centennial's Progress Campus, 941 Progress Ave. (just south of Highway 401 and east of Markham Road) in Scarborough.
The parking, coffee, course calendar and advice are all free.
For more information, call 416-289-5207 or visit www.centennialcollege.ca/ parttime/infonights.html.

Most schools teach only the basic technical aspects of spa treatments, like massage therapy or esthetics, and do not offer the complete training needed to manage the bottom line, lead a spa team and keep clients returning.

Together with its advanced diploma programs in esthetics and massage therapy, Elmcrest has now completed the circle in spa education.

As Canada's top institute for wellness and spa education, Elmcrest College prepares students to become the qualified, highly skilled, job-ready spa management personnel in demand by premier spas today.

Elmcrest's Faculty of Spa Management is now accepting applications for its exciting new full-time Spa Management Programs starting in September 2003 in Toronto.

Interested individuals who want to drive their careers to the next level in this booming industry, with or without prior spa experience, are encouraged to find out more by going to www.elmcrestcollege.com and clicking on career quiz. Or they can call admissions toll-free at 1-888-641-6300.
