The Second Cup at the Don Mills Centre is not only a place where young people start their day, it is also a place where young people can start their careers.
Bharti Kapoor, owner and operator of the Second Cup-Don Mills, has created a positive and nurturing work environment for youth entering today's labour market.

Pam Powell and Dallas Boyer, job developers with Operation Springboard's MTCU Job Connect program describe Kapoor as "someone who really cares about the youth and genuinely cares about their growth."
Kapoor believes that the skills you learn at work such as multi-tasking, dealing with people and dealing with problems are things you can't always learn in a classroom.
Kapoor began her affiliation with Job Connect in May 2003 when she hired Laura Nunez as a coffee agent with the Second Cup-Don Mills.
Nunez, who came to Canada from Venezuela, was having difficulty entering the Canadian labour market. Kapoor offered her a chance and Nunez responded by exceeding all expectations.
"Laura is not only an amazing employee, she's an amazing person. She has set high standards for future employees and is passionate about her job. She brings out the life in the cafe and customers love to deal with her," Kapoor says.
Appreciative
Nunez is enjoying her experience with the Second Cup-Don Mills and is appreciative of the guidance that Bharti provides. "Bharti likes to share her knowledge so everyone will have the same opportunity to meet their potential... If you like where you work, you never have to work again."
