Searching CANOE
CANOE has more than 250,000 pages of content. You can search the entire site, or narrow your search to one of our products: SLAM! Sports, Money, Jam! Showbiz, Lifewise, C-Health or CNEWS. Use these tips to conduct a successful search.
- Type in keywords. Check spelling and be specific:
i.e. Jean Chretien, not just Chretien.
- To find documents containing any of the words you request, separate words and phrases by commas. For example, mutual funds, advice, prices.
- To find documents containing all the words you request,
separate words and phrases by AND. For example,
eric lindros AND wayne gretzky.
- The search engine is not case-sensitive. In other words, it doesn't matter if you use capital or lower-case letters.
- Use specific words and phrases. Searching for
"Tragically Hip" will return better results than
"Canadian music".
- The search results you receive is sorted according to a score that measures the
number of times your search word or phrase is mentioned in the particular
document, although the score is not displayed.
- One last hint: Truth is, with few exceptions, we do not archive content from our affiliated newspapers. We thought it best to tell you so we can save you some time and frustration.
