Day 3: Kelowna Concert Review
REVIEW BY: BRIAN HILL
SkyReach Place, Kelowna, B.C.
Saturday, November 18, 2000
Well where do we start? This was an amazing show. The Hip was in great form
from the start of Tiger the Lion to the end of 50 Mission Cap. They
captivated the crowd with a great mix of songs from their broad spectrum of
music. The audience was fueled with high energy making for a very rewarding
show for both the band and the fans.
The music journey that the band took us through included highlight's like
Boots or Hearts [watch the video soon], 50 Mission Cap, Courage, Fireworks
and Sherpa.
The two song encore for the show were Stay and 50 Mission Cap.
The day started with a tour of the concert hall and taking in all that was
going on behind the scenes. It was also a wonderful experience to hear the
band jam and play a few tunes before the place was filled by a sold out crowd.
This evening was an unforgettable night for both Andrea and I that will be
etched in our memory's forever. This is partially due to the great
reception we received from Ross Walton who was our guide for the evening.
Thanks Ross.

I have been a fan of The Hip since Up To Here was released in 1989.
I have followed their musical journey very close. I would be honored to have the opportunity to see their show this tour as well as sharing this with all the their fans who will not be attending their Kelowna show.
I believe I could do a wonderful job reporting on the show.
I try and catch them in concert everytime they are passing through my area. Unfortunately I will not be seeing them this time. I was one of the people that wrote them to ask them to come to the Okanagan, BC after I noticed it was missing from their tour schedule. They listened to their fans and decided to put on the show in Kelowna. I was extremely excited and rushed down to buy tickets when they went on sale. Unfortunately here in Vernon there is only one ticketmaster outlet with one machine.
Needless to say I did not get any tickets after waiting in line for 3 hours. I am very disappointed. I know this probably won't help make your decision but I am running out of options.
