Tuesday, March 2, 1999 Fleury ponders making Denver homeDENVER (CP) -- He's only played one game with the Avalanche, but already the idea of living in Denver and playing with his buddy Joe Sakic is growing on former Flames star Theo Fleury."Oh, there's a real possibility," Fleury told the Calgary Sun, when asked about signing here in the off-season. "Hey, the flight's only an hour and 50 minutes from Calgary." Fleury, an unrestricted free agent on July 1, has maintained all season long that he wouldn't sign a new contract before testing the free-agent market this summer. But now that he's in Denver ... "This is a great situation for me, especially looking at it a full day after the deal was done," said Fleury, who was traded from Calgary on Sunday. "I have a lot of loyalty to teams that show faith in me and the Avalanche did that when they traded for me." Then there's Sakic, the Avalanche captain and dear friend of Fleury's. "(Sakic) told me how much I was going to like it here," Fleury said. "And so far it's been awesome."
