Osgood laments Fleury's departure
DETROIT (CP) -- Red Wings goalie Chris Osgood is from Peace River, Alta., and grew up following the exploits of the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames. So, Theo Fleury's trade from the Flames hit close to his heart."It's unfortunate for a place like Calgary to lose a player like that," Osgood told the Detroit Free Press. "It's kind of like Edmonton and how they lost their players a while back.
"That's a shame. Being from Alberta and seeing those teams that were so good in the '80s and even into the early '90s, and now they're losing all their players. It's a great place for hockey, and it's a shame that the players are being lost like that."
