Alfie begins work to rehab knee

By LISA BURKE -- Ottawa Sun
Daniel Alfredsson has started riding the stationary bike and doing rehabilitation for the tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
He says he's been working out on his upper body while waiting to start rehab on the knee. But the workouts pale in comparison to not playing.
"The hardest part was watching Saturday's game (a 4-0 win over Buffalo)," he said.

'C' FOR CURSE?: Shawn McEachern says he's not afraid of wearing the captain's `C', despite Daniel Alfredsson's injury and Alexei Yashin holding out for a new contract -- two situations that might make the `C' seem like a curse rather than a blessing.
"I've never had anything happen like that in my career," he said. "It's really good."

ICE CHIPS: D Igor Kravchuk was at practice yesterday after missing Saturday's game for personal reasons ... C Bruce Gardiner is ready to return Thursday night after missing the last three games with a sprained MCL in his left knee.
