Canucks defeat defending champion Stars
DALLAS (AP) -- Donald Brashear scored the go-ahead goal with 7:03 left as the Vancouver Canucks rallied to beat the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Friday night.
Brashear's shot from the from the slot deflected off Stars defenseman Jamie Pushor's skate and past goalie Ed Belfour.
Alexander Mogilny scored from the right circle 2:04 later to help the Canucks win for only the third time in their last 19 games (3-12-4).
Dallas held a 1-0 lead after two periods on Kirk Muller's power-play goal in the first period, but Vancouver tied it with 14:45 left on Todd Bertuzzi's goal.
Garth Snow stopped 31 shots for the Canucks. Snow made a difficult save against Brendan Morrow with 9:30 left while the Stars were on a power play.
The Stars had an 11-2 shots advantage in the second period, but Snow kept it a one-goal game.
Stars defenseman Brad Lukovich left the game in the first period because of a mild concussion. Dallas left wing Jere Lehtinen also was sidelined in the first period by an ankle injury.
