Bio...
All is not what it seems. Like the Black Butterfly of which iNSULiN sings, there is light in darkness, good from evil, hope in despair and vice versa.
On their debut cd Standing Up Loaded, ÒSteve Skingley takes on a remarkable new vocal persona for each of the eleven songs,Ó writes music journalist Karen Bliss. The cd Ò...is a testament to their musicianship and creative instinct.Ó
iNSULiN lashes out against complacency in Therapy, while inviting you to explore your own experiences in Falsify. Mozart Murdered, is a commanding performance that sreams of intolerance and neglect of natural born genius. Watch the media circus created by daytime sensationalistic talk shows in 15 minutes to live.
iNSULiN has been exploring their music through recording and gigging for five years. Their style is heavy and dark yet straightforward and melodic. Bassist and lead vocalist Steve Skingley met guitarist Dave Dunlop while studying music at college. Steve, looking for a band to take into the studio for an engineering session, hooked up with Dave and the two have been collaborating almost exclusively ever since.
Drummer Mike Churchill, a new addition, brings a refreshing new sonic dimension to the band. With the addition of drummer ChurchillÕs manic energy, iNSULiNÕs live show is a must see experience, eclectic, and devouring. ÒThere is a freedom and a reckless abandon that comes across in our live show,Ó says guitarist Dunlop. Indeed, iNSULiN explores a variety of moods and emotions, positive and negative, the black and the butterflies.
