As a Chatham teen recovers from pit bull bites to her legs, the head of the local animal shelter says it's no coincidence that an area that's had a spate of vicious dog attacks also has a problem getting rid of illegal dog fighting. The 16-year-old girl needed as many as 50 stitches after her boyfriend's pit bull attacked her in her mother's Grey Street apartment yesterday morning, said Cathy Crawford, manager of the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
