A 27-year-old man who left a large and loving family in London to embark on a career out west was found dead this week at an Alberta resort and a co-worker was charged with first- degree murder. Steven Tavares, described by a heartbroken aunt as the spark of life for a large Portuguese family and a protector of countless friends, was stabbed more than once, his bloodied body discovered Sunday in a hotel room of the Signature Club, a swanky addition to the Delta Lodge in Kananaskis, a tourist spot an hour west of Calgary.
