The Snake slithers into Legends game
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling

The roster for Legends of Wrestling: Showdown continues to grow, as another grappler will slither his way into the highly-anticipated Acclaim game.

Jake \"The Snake\" Roberts, former WWF and WCW superstar, is the latest grapping hero to be included in the game, following an earlier announcement that Ultimate Warrior would be part of the April 2004 release.

\"We\'re thrilled to include Jake \'The Snake\' Roberts in Legends of Wrestling: SHOWDOWN,\" said David Knies, brand director for Acclaim in a release. \"Developing a dream roster of wrestling legends is paramount to creating the ultimate supercard and wrestling fans should brace themselves -- because there\'s even more to come and they won\'t be disappointed.\"

Roberts, who had previously appeared in a few WWF game releases, including the arcade game Wrestlefest, is looking forward to the new game, the third title in the Legends of Wrestling series. \"I have been lurking in the shadows waiting for the right time to resurface,\" Roberts said in a release. \"My assault on Legends of Wrestling: SHOWDOWN begins now and I thank Acclaim for giving me this opportunity.\"

\"Take the fear you\'ll have from seeing me in the game and then imagine that I\'m standing in front of you with my snake, Damien; you\'ll think it\'s a dream but it\'ll be your worst nightmare. What you don\'t understand is that it has always been my choice ... April 2004 marks the return of the DDT. Trust me.\"

Roberts has been living in England for the last while, running wrestling shows.
