Three Canadians played a role in Michigan State's 22-16 upset win at Notre Dame on Saturday.
Starting linebacker Mike Labinjo
(Toronto, ON) had four solo and five assisted tackles as well as an interception for the Spartans while teammate Ziehl Kavanaght
(Brossard, PQ) had three punt returns for 27 yards.
Starting tight end Billy Palmer
(Ottawa, ON) had one catch for 13 yards for the Fighting Irish in a losing effort.
Two other Canadians also had a strong defensive effort in Stanford's 18-14 victory over Brigham Young. Starting free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe
(Windsor, ON) had two interceptions, two broken up passes, five solo and two assisted tackles for the Cardinals. Teammate Louis Hobson
(Toronto, ON) made the start at defensive end for Stanford and had one solo tackle for a nine-yard loss.
Starting defensive end Nautyn McKay-Loescher
(Toronto, ON) had a sack for a 12-yard loss in Alabama's 19-16 loss to Northern Illinois. He also had two assisted tackles and four quarterback hits for the Crimson Tide.
Three Canadians factored into plays in Eastern Michigan's 39-7 loss at Navy. Eric Deslauriers
(Gatineau, PQ) had a kickoff return for 26 yards for the EMU Eagles. Starting defensive lineman Matt Kudu
(Mississauga, ON) had two unassisted and five assisted tackles, as well as one forced fumble and Olivier Gagnon-Gordillo

A pair of Canadians were on opposite ends of Kentucky's 34-17 win against Indiana. Kentucky's Alexis Bwenge
(St. Apollonaire, PQ) ran 32 yards on six carries, and caught a pass for a four-yard play. He also fumbled once.

(Montreal, PQ) had two solo tackles.
Two Canadians were also on opposite ends of Syracuse's 38-14 victory against Central Florida. Syracuse's Thomas Whitfield
(Windsor, PQ) had four unassisted and four assisted tackles in the win, while Cedric Gagne-Marcoux
(Sherbrooke, PQ) made the start at centre for Central Florida.
Defensive lineman Alain Kashama
(Montreal, PQ) had two solo and three assisted tackles in Michigan's 31-27 loss in Oregon. The Wolverine also had one quarterback hit.
Two Canadians factored into Connecticut's 38-7 win over Buffalo. O'Neil Wilson
(Scarborough, ON) made the start at wide receiver for the Huskies and made a 25-yard catch. Teammate Hakeem Kashama
(Brampton, ON) had two assisted tackles at defensive end.
(Lethbridge, AB) made the start at defensive end for Boise State in a 26-24 loss to Oregon State. Williams had one solo and an assisted tackle.
Starting tight end Matt Brandt
(Toronto, ON) had a pair of catches for 40 yards in a 41-21 win for Miami (Ohio) at Colorado State. Brandt also had a fumble and had a tackle.

also had two converts for Boston College in a 33-14 loss to Miami (Florida).
