Katerina Tichy, in her first season on the national team will compete at the Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan, in women's slalom. A native of Praha in the Czech republic, Tichy has registered some solid results on the World Cup circuit so far this season. Her best result was an 18th in Val d'Isere, France on December 20 and she was also 20th a week later in Linz, Austria.
  The 23-year-old Port Moody, B.C., resident has earned four FIS North American race victories this season. She was ranked 41st in the world in slalom at the start of the 1997-98 season.
