Marie-Odile Raymond, 24, unexpectedly beat out 40 other women to qualify the fifth and final spot on the Canadian Olympic team. It was a determined comeback for the Aylmer, Que., resident who narrowly missed last season's world championship team despite serious foot injury which had hampered her training. She's currently in her third year of bio-agronomy at Universite Laval and she intends to pursue a degree in water purification. She hopes to work in a developing country. |
