    Scott wins first day of racing in trials

     CANMORE, Alta. (CP) -- Beckie Scott of Vermilion, Alta., won the first day of racing at the cross country ski championships and Olympic trials on Saturday.
     Scott finished in a time of 14 minutes 25.1 seconds while Milaine Theriault of St-Quentin, N.B., was second in 15:52.2 and Sara Renner of Canmore, Alta., was third in 15:52.2.
     In the men's race, Robin McKeever of Calgary was first in 27:30.3, Donald Farley of Lorraine, Que., was second in 27:32.5 and Guido Visser of St. Ferreol was third with a time of 27:33.8.


     CANMORE, Alta. (CP) -- Cross country ski results from the Jeep Cross Country Championships and Olympic Trials:
