Jeremy Wotherspoon - Long Track Speed Skating
There seems no doubt, that Jeremy Wotherspoon is destined to be a superstar
in the sport of long track speed skating. If there was a Rookie of the
Year award on the World Cup circuit last season, Wotherspoon's name would
have been inscribed on the trophy. He earned 14 top-10 results including a
silver medal in the 1,000. He was also fourth in the 1,000 at the world
championships.
"I know that if I skate a clean race I'd have a good chance at a medal,"
said the laid-back 21-year-old Red Deer, Alta., resident. " I still need to
post faster laps but I'm already way ahead of where I though I'd be.''
Wotherspoon has sparkled at every level. As a junior he set world marks in
the 500 and 1,000 as well as the cumulative sprint points for one meet.
