Real Action out of action
By GREG OLIVER -- SLAM! Wrestling
Skot Gallant had a lot of fun running the Real Action Wrestling tour back in November in the Maritimes. But that fun cost him.
He told SLAM! Wrestling that it's tough to say when he might promote again. "I lost [money] on my first little deal there."
On the November tour, fans were told that Real Action would return in February or March. But now, Gallant doesn't think he'll be able to afford to run a show again until next fall.
"I want to have a bigger production," he said, adding that he knows that more advertising is needed to draw bigger crowds.
He compared the experience to his years and years on the carnival circuit. "I lose some weeks, I make money other weeks ... going spot to spot, trying to make a dollar."
Some of the wrestlers on the November tour included Tod The Bod, Gemini, Notorious T.I.D., Magnus von Steele, Tommy Twilight, Midnight Mass, Jack Damage, Slater, Hercules Peter Smith, Kurrgan, Cowboy Mike Hughes and Nature Boy Cliff MacDonald.
Maritimers who want wrestling action will have to wait for May, and the return of Grand Prix Wrestling.
