(AP) -- The Buffalo Blizzard folded Wednesday after owner John Bellanti decided not to apply for membership into the Major Indoor Soccer League.The Blizzard reached the playoffs eight times and won two division titles in nine seasons in the defunct National Professional Soccer League. NPSL to change format, Toronto may sit outTORONTO (CP) -- The National Professional Soccer League is overhauling its look, with a new name and reduced membership next season in the hopes the pruning will lead to a stronger, more vibrant indoor league.The new league will also become a single-entity structure, following the lead of Major League Soccer and the National Lacrosse League. Players will be contracted to the league with owner-operators running the franchises. Milwaukee defeats Philadelphia to win NPSL championshipPHILADELPHIA (CP) -- Joe Reiniger had two goals and two assists as the Milwaukee Wave beat the Philadelphia Kixx 10-8 to complete a three-game sweep and win the NPSL championship Friday night.Wave goalkeeper Victor Nogueira made 16 saves to record the victory, while Philadelphia's Peter Pappas, a native of Toronto, stopped 10 shots in taking the loss.
