    Tunisia axes coach

PARIS (CP) -- Tunisia has become the latest World Cup team to fire its coach.
Polish-born Henry Kasperczak was axed today, one day after a 1-0 loss to Colombia that eliminated the 0-2 Tunisians from advancing.
He is the third coach to be fired at the 1998 tournament, following Carlos Albert Parreira of Brazil and Cha Bum-Kun of South Korea. Both coaches were dismissed after their second successive loss at the competition.
The Tunisians looked weak in their 2-0 opening loss to England but performed well in the 1-0 loss to Colombia on Monday, holding off their opponents for 83 minutes before giving up the deciding goal.
The Tunisian Football Federation said assistant coach Ali Selmi will coach the team for its final game Friday against Romania.
This is Tunisia's second appearance at the World Cup finals, following an appearance in 1978 that also ended after just one round.
Kasperczak was capped 63 times as a player for Poland before embarking on his coaching career with a 14-year stint in France. He coached Ivory Coast at the 1994 African Nations Cup before taking over Tunisia.
As a player, he was a member of the Polish team that finished third at the 1974 World Cup.
The coaching casualty list is expected to keep growing at the World Cup, with American Steve Sampson on shaky ground after an 0-2 start.
