Home team USA became the fourth nation to win the Red Oak Farms Global Junior
Championship as they dethroned Canada 21-19 in the Championship Game at
Clearwater High School Stadium on the eve of Super Bowl XXXV.
Ironically a missed extra point by Stephan Larosiliere - whose kick proved
the difference in a 7-6 win over Europe this time last year - meant Canada
had to go for two points late in the game and came up just short. The clock
finally beat the Canadians as they mounted a last gasp drive to reach
potential game-winning field goal range.
