Oscar winner Julianne Moore has reportedly been dropped as the face of a new tourism campaign in Turkey.
The Hunger Games star agreed to shoot a short promotional film for government officials last year - to encourage people to visit the country, just like she did as a kid - but representatives at the Culture and Tourism Ministry were reportedly unhappy with the footage, which featured Moore travelling on a plane as she recalled her childhood memories of her visits to Turkey.
They asked the actress to reshoot the clips, but Moore allegedly refused, and now Turkish politicians have decided not to run the Home Of campaign after all, according to the local Hurriyet Daily News.
Ministry sources claim the ads were scrapped as a result of Moore’s “poor acting” during the shoot.
Representatives for Moore and the Turkish government have yet to comment on the controversy.
Ironically, the star was crowned Best Actress for her role in family drama Still Alice at the Academy Awards in February.
