The Art Paris Art Fair celebrates springtime and contemporary art, the V&A in London opens a display of Italian fashion spanning seven decades, and Boston's Museum of Fine Arts exhibits the extensive Pilgrim/Roy Collection of quilts.

Billing itself as "the Springtime event for Modern and Contemporary Art" with China as this year's guest of honor -- and photographic chameleon Liu Bolin among exhibitors -- the fair features both art and design while acting as a platform for younger galleries and their clientele.

The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014

Charting Italy's rise from the rubble of a post-war era to bastion of luxury fashion houses, with 100 pieces from labels including Versace, Prada, D&G, Armani, Gucci and Valentino as well as picks from a selection of emerging star designers.

Quilts and Color: The Pilgrim/Roy Collection

Vivid, colorful quilts from the oeuvre of Paul Pilgrim and Gerald Roy, with over 60 examples, including sections on variations and optical illusions. Running concurrently at the MFA are "Visiting Masterpieces: Caravaggio and Connoisseurship" and draft document exhibit "D is for Design."

Wang Gongxin: Video Artist

A 20-year veteran of the video art space, Gongxin explores social issues with a light touch; three works from the major Chinese artist -- "The dinner table," "Relating - It's About YA," and "Basic Colour" -- are being made available to view for free for a five-and-a-half-month stretch at the NGV.

Caribbean: Crossroads of the World

Two centuries of rare artworks, ranging from prints, photos and paintings to sculpture, films, and other installations, from the Haitian Revolution at the close of the 18th century up to the present day. High profile artists on display include Harlem's Jacob Lawrence, influential Impressionist Camille Pissarro, Cuba's distinctive Wifredo Lam, the avant-garde's Amelia Peláez, and Venezuela's Armando Reverón.
