The V&A in London puts on a lavish display of matrimonial dressware from the last two centuries, and connoisseurs travel to New York's Randall Island Park for the Frieze Masters. In Paris, the Pompidou prepares its Martial Raysse retrospective, and Art Basel Hong Kong is set for mid-May.

With clothing from Charles James, Vivienne Westwood and Vera Wang, the V&A's exhibition has good evidence to support its claim of displaying "the most romantic, glamorous and iconic dresses from the last 200 years." Meanwhile, Charles James's "Beyond Fashion" is at the New York Met from May to August.

Frieze Masters

The Frieze Art Fair returns to Manhattan, featuring over 190 of the world's most prestigious galleries. In addition, there are to be six commissioned artists, a wide-ranging series of lectures and talks, an education space, and three specially commissioned audio works. The citywide festival NYCxDesign runs May 9-20, with Verge Art NYC May 9-10.

Martial Raysse

Centre Pompidou, Paris, France

Founding member of the 1960s' Nouveaux Réalistes movement Martial Raysse is celebrated with a diverse collection of artworks ranging from the neon and metal sculpture "America America" to the camera trickery of his installation "Identité, maintenant vous êtes un Martial Raysse" ("Identity, now you are a Martial Raysse").

Six sectors covering gallery work, commissioned pieces, global contemporary art, large-scale installations, film and magazines convene on Victoria Harbor, as well as Carsten Nicolai's "α (alpha) pulse," a night-time takeover of the 490m-tall International Commerce Centre.

Affordable Art Fair Singapore

Accommodating more frugal budgets but still with pieces whose tickets reach up to $10,000, Singapore's edition of this global fair initiative is the network's 100th. Alongside the usual collectin of potential purchases are themed displays including a 100th Feature Exhibition and the Children's Art Studio, and two public competitions courtesy of Fred Lives Here furniture boutique and Home & Decor Magazine.

With its main focus on artworks coming out of Argentina and its fellow Latin America countries, this contemporary art fair's sections contain a emphasis on innovative young galleries, the single artist exhibits of Cabinet, an exploration of the question "When Does Contemporary Art Begin?"
and the $15,000 USB Latin American Painting Competition, as well as a varied schedule of open forum panels.

Isa Genzken: I Am The Only Female Fool

The versatile German installation artist plays with art movements, genres, and concepts, with her sculpture retaining its primacy but other media such as photography also promised.
