After two years in negotiations, Air Canada launched its much anticipated non-stop direct flight from Toronto to Eagle County Regional Airport, 15 minutes from the ski slopes of Vail, Colo.

Passengers on the inaugural flight, which took place early on Saturday, Dec. 14, were greeted by a Beaver Creek cookie chef bearing a tray of warm chocolate chip cookies. The signature treat is served daily at 3 p.m. at the base of the main ski lifts at Vail's Beaver Creek.

Formerly routed through Chicago or Denver, Vail-bound Toronto skiers can now fly direct once per week on Saturdays throughout the 2013-14 winter season. The new flight puts eager skiers on the Vail and Beaver Creek slopes by 1 p.m. the same day. See AirCanada.com or VailResorts.com.
