Airbus has unveiled the new cabin interior of its latest A350 XWB aircraft that features a wider fuselage for roomier seats and larger overhead bins to accommodate the demands of increased cabin baggage stowage space.
The A350 XWB is the newest mid-size long range aircraft out of Airbus. At its Hamburg site, the aerospace company showed off the cabin interior of its flight-test aircraft the MSN002, one of two test aircraft fitted with the commercial passenger configuration.
Other standout features will include a variety of cabin LED lighting possibilities for customized ambiances and scenarios -- 16.7 million to be precise -- and fourth-generation in-flight entertainment consoles and high-definition display options that are integrated into the cabin floor to free up more personal space.
Instead of curved sidewalls, engineers designed more vertical walls while a wider fuselage (220 inches across) is also meant to allow for greater space and comfort in business class.
At the end of last month, there were 812 orders for the A350 XWB from 39 airlines and customers around the world.
