A North Carolina-bound flight was delayed on Thursday night after crabs got loose in the cargo hold.
The US Airways plane, bound for Charlotte International Airport, was grounded at LaGuardia in New York after a shipment of live crabs escaped from their cages, an airline spokesperson told ABC News.
The flight was delayed for about 30 minutes while crews rounded up the escaped crabs.
Can't make this stuff up. Flight delayed cuz live crabs got loose in cargo bin. Have to catch crabs before we can board plane. Seriously.— Megan Hughes (@Choreocon) October 2, 2014
Here's a new one. Flight delayed because box of live crabs broke open and cargo bay. Crew chasing around crabs now. #DeadliestCatch— Corrie Harding (@CorrieAHarding) October 2, 2014
"Ladies and gentlemen your flight is delayed b/c a box of live crabs spilled out in the cargo bin during flight" @USAirways how is this real— Anna Scarcella (@Cscarcella) October 2, 2014
